Pinning Down Genius

July 12, 2011

Every time I visit Pinterest, I’m amazed at some of the ingenius things people have come up with. I don’t know why I’m surprised, there are some very crafty folks out there – but there are sometimes when I’m literally just floored with some of the things I find on there. I thought it would be fun to share 10 of my favorite “Oh man, why didn’t I think of that before??” finds from the last few weeks.

Outdoor twister

Making your own fabric or ribbon tape

Painted glass jars for storage instead of plain clear ones

Organizing ribbon through a basket with holes – the spools stay put as you pull ribbon out

Using paper clips as cord holders

Creating watercolors out of old markers by dipping the heads in water

Installing a towel rack on the back of a door for easy access and non-cluterred kitchen drawers or cabinets

Hanging cleaning supplies underneath the sink on a tension rod to use more vertical space in a cabinet

Creating your own fabric softening sheets out of liquid fabric softener and an old towel

Making your own dessert pedestal/cake stand from a plate and a beautiful goblet or wine glass

Are you a fellow pinner on pinterest? What are some of the most imaginative and/or innovative ideas or DIY projects that you’ve come across?
